All the departments of NCPR carry out a research project each year. These projects are completed within six months to one year.As the following research projects are under process and after completion of the projects the final report gets published in Dari or Pushto languages. Causes of Violence Increment Against Women in Afghanistan
The qualitative results of this research are very close to quantitative once so that most of professionals in this area believed that, harmful traditional practices in society, gender discrimination, ignorance of each other legal rights, patriarchal system of families, economic weakness and unhealthy upbringing of children, underage and forced marriages, illiteracy, plurality of members in families, broadcasting of pornographic films and programs by public media, weak institutions and lack of justice and not punishing of those who causes violence are the most important factors for the increment of violence against women in Afghanistan.

‘High Peace Council: Activities and Achievements’
The findings of research reveal that, objectives and functions of High Peace Council is not satisfactory comparing the budget it has spent. Commentators did not approve of the continuation of high peace council work, instead they suggested a change in the combination and structure of high peace council and transforming it into a commission of natural experts on peace and conflict.

“Effects of Unemployment on Intensity of Insecurity in Afghanistan”
This research project is being carried on by two researches and three research assistants to know: what are the causes of unemployment which affect intensity of insecurity in the country, and how much unemployment affects on intensity of insecurity in Afghanistan. After data analyzes, we will have some logical and proper recommendations which are essential for ensuring security in Afghanistan, to related agencies in National and International levels.

“Potential Possibilities of Import Substitution in Afghanistan”
This research project is conducting by two senior researchers, which teach at the Economics Faculty of Kabul University and two research assistance graduated from Economics Faculty of Kabul University and now they work at the Central Statistic Office and one of the USAID Projects.
The aim of this project is to identify the potential of Afghanistan in terms of producing those goods, which are currently importing from abroad. Obviously, Afghanistan has very good opportunities and possibilities as well as comparative advantages in terms of producing much of those items which currently imported, such as most agricultural, some industrial good like cements, etc. However, the complete list of potential possibilities will be clarified after this research project complete. In addition, this research project will highlight the challenges of import substitution in Afghanistan and suggest possible policies to remove the obstacles and succeed to the process of import substitution.

“The Situation of Teacher Training program of MoE: Efficiency and its Effectiveness”
This research Project is carrying on by five researchers and four research assistants. In our sample we have 491 teachers and 100 school principals, head-masters and trainers. The quantitative and qualitative research methods and analyses are taken in to consideration. In management effectiveness means carrying out good activities and efficacy is conducting the activities in proper manners. Effectiveness has a quality aspect and efficacy has a quantity character MoE teacher training program is effective because most of the teachers who have taken the teacher training courses, are teaching properly and use proper and relevant teaching methods and materials. The program is cost-effective because the teachers are given training in their relevant provinces and districts. This is the reason that the MoE teacher training program is efficient because more teachers are getting training with minor cost in their localities and many students are thought by trained teachers. The teachers are forced to get to gather in Kabul city or travel to other provinces.Department of Peace & Conflict Studies“The Role of Employment in Peace Building”This research is conducted by two researchers and six research assistants. The main question of this research is how employment impacts the views and behaviors of research population in respect to peace. The target population of this research is young (20 – 35 years old) educated (those who have university degree or are in the process of getting one) residents of Kabul. This research will clarify whether employment transforms the behaviors and views of the population into less pro- violence and increases their sense of peace or there are other sources of concerns for them which are more significant in the socio-economic and political context of Afghanistan.
